Polarimeter
Our polarimeter is a scientific instrument used to measure the optical activity of substances and the rotation of plane-polarized light as it passes through them. It typically consists of a light source, a polarizer, the sample cell, and an analyzer. When plane-polarized light enters the sample, the molecules within the substance can cause the plane of polarization to rotate, a phenomenon known as optical rotation. The polarimeter quantifies this rotation angle, which is directly related to the concentration and specific optical activity of chiral (optically active) compounds.
