Soxhlet Water Bath
Our Soxhlet water bath is a laboratory device used for liquid-liquid extractions, particularly in the process of extracting soluble compounds from solid samples, such as for chemical analysis or sample preparation. It consists of a round-bottom flask containing the sample to be extracted, a siphon, and a water bath. The flask is heated by the water bath, causing the solvent within the flask to evaporate and then condense in a vertical condenser. The condensed solvent drips back into the sample, creating a continuous cycle of extraction. This method is particularly useful for the extraction of compounds that have limited solubility in the chosen solvent, as it ensures thorough and efficient extraction over an extended period.
