Laboratory Refractometer
Labotronics refractometer is a laboratory instrument used to measure the refractive index of a substance, which indicates how much light is bent as it passes through that material. This bending of light, known as refraction, is related to the substance's concentration and composition. In a typical handheld refractometer, a sample is placed on a prism, and the device measures the angle at which light passes through the sample. By comparing this angle to a reference scale, refractometers determine the refractive index, which can be used to deduce properties such as the concentration of solutes in solutions, the sugar content in beverages, or the quality of oils and chemicals. Our versatile instruments are widely used in industries like food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, and automotive to ensure product quality and consistency, and they are particularly valuable in applications where precision measurements are critical.
